The Experience
Find a warm welcome at Ambler’s ACT II Playhouse where one of the two artistic directors is there to greet the audience. The artistic directors choose their season of “quality plays with something to say” and draw on strong Philadelphia directors, actors and technicians to create the magic.
The first 18 productions employed 15 different directors and an equally diverse pool of actors. In general, they stage plays not yet seen in the Philadelphia region; past productions include Grace and Glorie; I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change; and The Lonesome West.
History
ACT II is a second career for both Steve and Alan Blumenthal (no relation), whose passion for theater played second fiddle to their working lives until fate brought them together to jointly open ACT II Playhouse in 1999.
